The Good and Welfare Committee

A Commitment to Service – The Welfare Committee

The tenets of camaraderie and working for the general l welfare of the membership and associates are the cornerstones of the GEPAC’s constitution. From its inception and over the past 15 years GEPAC has lived its mission statement by adhering to its objectives. The people whose ongoing task it is to oversee and revere these objectives are GEPAC’s Welfare Committee.

GEPAC has always been fortunate to have, in stewards of this Committee, men and women who selflessly guard and administer these tenets. Always without recognition but with the drive to bring that little bit of comforting, joy and support to a” squaddie”, a barrack mate, a colleague, a brother or sister who served.

They would over the years bring joy to the shut ins and hospitalized by the telling of new stories; rehashing and embellishing older ones; humming or singing tunes that spark a joyous sound to some; moments of recognition oh so short even to those for whom a visit is met with quizzical looks of non recognition; a partial spurt of recall from a once disciplined mind.

Their work continued in the planning and organization all functions that enhanced and improved the quality of life for every brother and sister. Always at the forefront of most community initiatives, they initiated liaisons with national and international organization to help in the uplifting of youth and children in orphanages.

The men and women of GEPAC are proud of this group and their accomplishment and deeds, some of which bring a tear to the toughest of us. They continue to carry out their mission without any fanfare to most but the call to duty is heard loud and clear within GEPAC.

We are forever indebted to you and we will continue to be proud.

Thank you all

GEPAC
